Fry Bread Tacos

Theo Von and Andrew Santino join Bert Kreischer in the kitchen to whip up some authentic Fry Bread Tacos featuring ground bison and a sweet dessert variation.

Fry Bread Tacos

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • Large can of Crisco
  • 1 TBS baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cup warm water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Ground bison
  • Taco seasoning
  • Can of green chiles
  • Beans
  • Hot sauce
  • Cheese

Steps

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and slowly mix in water.
  2. Knead the dough, then let it rest for 20 minutes.
  3. Heat Crisco in a big pot to 350 degrees.
  4. Sauté onions. Then add bison meat and taco seasoning. Add green chiles and continue cooking.
  5. Create tortillas and fry in Crisco until golden brown.
  6. Create tacos with meat and toppings of your choice.

  • Powdered sugar
  • Honey

Steps

  1. Top Fry bread with powdered sugar and honey.
